Going to yosemite for a day- what to do/what to bring?
Planning on going to Yosemite for a day and probably short (~10-15 miles both way) hike. Any advice on a good beginner or intermediate trail?

Doesnt have to be yosemite- just havent been there for a while. I dont have hiking boots or anything either.
Anywhere else around northern california that is nice for hikes that you know?

yosemite has some fun hikes, but it really depends on what you want to do. i mean, do you want to hike to a spot for a view? hike just to hike? hike and have cool scenery along the way?
most of the hikes i know of near yosemite are more geared towards backpacking rather than day hikes.

Probably just hike for a spot to view and that you can hangout for a little bit before moving on.

upper yosemite falls is cool, challenging on the way up, but rewarding when you get there
bring some food, a camera, plenty of water, and a hat if its hot outside

Bring hiking shoes, backpack with stuff to eat/drink perhaps, an ipod, bug repellent, camera
