idk if anyone participates in this sport. But i've been fly fishing 3 times a week and my tags for the summer are nearly full! Today i was literally dragged down a salmon river a good kilometre. I got it to shore and it was too big for my net!
weighed it at home, 26 pounds of awesome. Its already broken down and ready to be turned into beautiful smoked salmon!!
No pictures as i do not trust technology near sources of water. rightfully so.

Today, hit the waters and nobody was out yet. Within 1 hr, I would have limited out if I landed all my fish. It was amazing. And not only that, but they were BIG UNS! The FishGods were looking down at me. Amazing morning. Found a pattern. Was able to call out bites before casts.
I lost several beasts. But managed to put an 18 incher

I probably spend 100+ days a year on the water fishing and I have no idea how to even clean a fish

I got a ******* ticket for not having a license. Where can I do this freely? not having a license can get you in a tonne of trouble up here, its considered poeaching. you lose your truck, quad, trailer, gear. everything. then you get a megafine. in other words, follow the law, pay the pittance for your right to fish. and as for cleaning, its easy, slice the throat, run your knife up the belly, scrape the insides, haul all the crap out, clean it off in the water, duh. then hold your fish in the water and rub your knife against the scales, a bit of pressure, but not enough to damage the flesh. |

You just gotta shut up and go outside sometime
I'd rather be fishing freshwater lakes/rivers/ponds than sitting online daydreaming about saltwater fishing.

I went again today, for over 16 hours, i got three.
anf filled my alter ego's tags. "Finneas McClintock" wont be salmon fishing anymore this summer.
