I tried the method of putting the egg into cold water on the stove and turning off the heat as it comes to a rolling boil. Forgot to let them sit for a few minutes before trying to peel them

Make sure you don't let other people eating the eggs see/know how you cracked them open.

It took me a while to do also...until I became confident in peeling off the ends. I just pinch and grab, then blow.
Soft boiled egg + that garlic salt grinder thing
