I was never taught to measure anything when cooking. I think the majority of things end up tasting better when you just go with the flow and taste-test along the way. Anyways, it is the most simple thing ever, and it's delicious. I haven't meant one person who didn't like it.
Go to the grocery store and pick up a pork loin/shoulder/whatever is cheap, really. Just make sure it's a pretty decent size. pork chops and stuff won't really work for this, so lean more towards the "roast" looking cuts. Bones/fat doesn't really matter either.
Then I normally use a leftover container from chinese restaurants, the tall plastic ones that soups come in. I fill it 3/4 of the way up with white vinegar, maybe 5 good squirts of ketchup, and a good palm full of red pepper flakes (you can use more or less, depending on how spicy you like things). You put the lid on, and just shake it up until the vinegar and ketchup are mixed together.
I will wake up in the morning, turn the crock pot on high and put the pork in there, with a really good amount of the mixture. I check on it every few hours, flipping it if need be, checking to see how done it is with a fork. After a while, you're going to be able to shred it up. You do that to the entire piece, taking out any bones or bits of fat you may see. Even though its done, I will let it cook until dinner time, normally turning the dial down to medium. You want it to be moist but not dripping wet, so just keep an eye on it, mixing it around every once in a while, making sure it doesn't get too dry. That's why you always make extra "mixture", because you just never know.
Once dinner hits, you open up a hamburger bun, put however much meat on it, coleslaw ontop of that, then the top of the bun. Voila. You have a delicious sandwich, enough food to feed an army and more than likely leftovers. If there are too many leftovers, it freezes EXTREMELY well.. and all you have to do is reheat it in the microwave if need be.
I know it sounds like a lot, but like I said.. I don't measure. But I promise you that it's delicious. So.. if anyone tries this, let me know.
