The other night... he had 4 steaks and 4 super large chicken breasts...
They were on the grill for about 40 minutes (a man never doubts another man's grilling technique, that's grounds for a fight) and when they came off, the steak was on the super rare side of medium rare, the chicken skin was cooked.... but that was about it....
WTF?
I don't prescribe to the "X minutes on each side" logic, but I cook it till it's done... (man sense knows when its done). -darc

I don't really know much about it myself, so I can't really elaborate, but you have to know what you're doing as far as outdoor grilling goes, so maybe that'll give you an idea about how that went wrong.
Too bad, the idea sounded good...

So you ate the rare meat or what? Just tell him it was undercooked and throw it back on.

So you ate the rare meat or what? Just tell him it was undercooked and throw it back on. I ate the rare steak, didn't touch the chicken. We mentioned it wasn't done at all and he seemed amazed it wasn't since it was on for 40 minutes (his words, not mine). Not sure what he did with the chicken. I guess he just had it on a stupidly low temp... needs to go back to man school. -darc
