Favorite urban legend?

This could be in regards to the old story of the guy with the hook for a hand who terrorized teens in the local lovers lane to something more up-to-date, like internet stuff.

Well, the latter's for me, in regards to the Slender Man

What the deal is, there was a thread on somethingawful a while back where they basically said 'lets make some fake paranormal photos!' The legend and two fake Slender Man photos was born, which you can see them here. The story behind him is that when he appears, children disappear.

These caused a really big stir on those forums, since they, along with the story, were pretty well done (several of the other ones sucked, and had no story at all), so much that there are now Slender Man wikis, fan art and videos, and oh yes, an entire video channel dedicated to it. The only thing is, I don't know if the same person who created the original Something Awful stuff also made the videos, but here's the deal with them anyway:

As the story in the intro clip goes, a guy (named as only "J", or maybe it's "Jay") and a friend of his, Alex, were involved in Alex's home made movie of Marble Hornets. Weird stuff started going on, affecting Alex's behavior to the point where he quit the movie prematurely. Once J found out Alex still had the tapes and wanted to finish the movie and took the tapes over from him...well, it was a pretty haunting reply from Alex when he told J what he was planning to do with the tapes:



The Slender Man starts popping up in many of the videos...



They did a pretty good job with this series, especially in regards to how his face is never seen, as evidenced by the above and many other videos.

Unfortunately some of the stuff gets old, like the camera starts wigging out and J blacks out to find skipped over film footage (multiple times near the end) and stuff like that. I guess the guy was running out of ideas, especially since it isn't finished yet, as it's been several months since the last chapter was posted.

Some of it's brilliant though, especially when a side story pops up in regards to a character named totheark (sp?), as people had put up posts saying 'hey, what you hear in totheark's video of _____ is the audio that's missing from the Entry #___ video'. And I found a couple parts of it to be really scary too.

Dying In The Arms Of An Angel

Urban Legend: A person makes a bet with their friends that they can spend the night in a cemetery and are is found dead in the morning in the arms of a graveyard statue.

What It's About:
A person makes a bet with a group of friends that he or she (more often it's a she) can spend the night in the cemetery. The person is found dead in the morning, laying across the arms of a large statue, usually of an angel with it's arms out-stretched. This legend also included a statue of an old woman seated with her arms out stretched, a woman standing with her arms out-stretched. Variations on this are: as an initiation into a gang, a fraternity or sorority or into a high school clique. The dead person is found dead with no sign of injury or has also been found to be sitting on the lap of the seated statue with crushed ribs, presumably by the arms of the statue. But the end result is always the same, the person is dead in the arms of the statue.

Origins:
This legend has been told as having happened in various parts of the United States but no true origins can be found
