Yes, *not* a real arcade, but still a cool vid.
So, share some classic gaming memories (nothing more current than the PS1!); I'd demand that they be arcade-only, but not everyone has been to one back in the day or were even around back then. However, you can get a good idea what they were like by seeing Flynn's in the original Tron movie, although even the biggest ones usually weren't that big.
I'm not going to get into this much actually, since I would obviously go on about it for a long time, but about all I'll say is that, at their peak ('78 or whenever Space Invaders came out, making a huge boom then, to '82 or '83 once the Video Game Crash hit), a crappy game room ran on quarters, or only four or five tokens for a buck. The good ones gave you 6-8, there was even one that gave you 12 for a buck. With only four dollars in your pocket and being fairly good at games (like myself), that could last you an entire afternoon...even if you could find an arcade nowadays, that won't even last you 20 minutes, especially with the newer games that cost $1 per play (not counting if a game room has some old ones that run on quarters or maybe even nickels or something).
A place here in Houston called Memorial City Mall literally had five, maybe even six game rooms at once at its peak...now they've only got one small one, last time I was there. The price of technology, where the more powerful stuff is at home, since it's not worth the price to make arcade games any more, really.

I still prefer that over all the others. Because I rented 2, 3, and Sonic and Knuckles or whatever back in the day and never bothered getting them, I'm not like a lot of other people online that say 'you have to get all the Sonics, they're all great and must-haves!', that's enough for me.
And I've got the Sonic game for the Sega CD. I don't play that as much as I still return to the original now and again over the years.

^1980, I think. Actually the first one was Puck-Man in Japan. Wow, you're into the Jaguar? Can't say even *I'm* into that, and I'm a fairly big Atari fan! ;D
