If you live in New York City, there's no reason to ever travel to another US city.
Want to go to Chicago? Midtown NYC has that same big-city-but-sterile-and-lifeless vibe. Also the food there is awful, so this is a win/win.
What about LA? NYC has everything LA has and more. Beaches? Check. Hot chicks? Check. TV and film industries? Check. Same goes for Miami. Let's move on.
Maybe you like a laid back, hippie vibe. Close to the water, with tons of great shops and restaurants, and scenic streets and parks? Where do you go? San Francisco? Nope, you go to the West Village.
You into historical sh*t? I'm looking at you, Boston and Philly. Ever heard of a little thing called Ellis Island? Tammany Hall? Teddy Roosevelt's Birthplace? The Statue of Liberty?
I'm not even going to mention Washington DC, because that whole NOVA area sucks such hard **** it's not even funny.

Yes, because never leaving your little corner of the world is the best way to be an enlightened member of society.

@ wolf
are you implying that I said something that isn't true? because if that's the case just point it out and we'll discuss it. I am 100% serious. travel abroad, sure, but to other US cities? nope.

San Francisco may be one of the few exceptions.

san francisco is probably the prettiest city i've seen. the view from across the bay looking over alcatraz to the city and with the golden gate running across
DC is the obvious choice for sights and museums

How are rain and snow bad? What's wrong with actually experiencing the season you're in?

Big cities are fun on occasion but I don't like them for long periods of time. I like some open space.
