Ok I have a thought and you guys help me come up with an idea. I think we should have some sort of sub-board in "Life in General" or at least a thread of some kind about Career opportunities and of the like. Basically people post ideas of jobs, websites that post job openings, how to look for jobs, what to look for in jobs, how to make a resume, how to do interviews etc. I've seen people post that they need jobs and I'm sure people who have jobs would like to make a little extra money on the side and we can post ideas on that as well. We all know that it's hard to make money now a days, and I feel that could help. If just one person gets a job from this, it would be worth it all. What do you think?

I think it would be hard to help each other find jobs since a lot of us are in different areas.
I guess maybe we could list what we are looking for and what area we want...then get advice on how to do it, and whoever wants to help can help
But I think a lot of people have jobs on here already. I could be wrong.
Maybe a thread would be better than a subboard, but that's just my thought

Job support could be an interesting THREAD. I dont think it would work well as a sub-board because I dont know how many people would want to post their personal info, and salary reqs etc

I think it's a great idea. We have health and body...why not have a "career" or "profession" board. People can discuss their current jobs, b**ch and moan, ;p ask for advice when they need it...ask others about input on possible career paths, extra ways to make money, ideas, etc. I like it personally and people don't have to share all their personal info to take part, and again, people CHOOSE to take part.

I agree. People make a lot of threads on that subject on here.

Dont think a whole sub-board is necessary.. For a sub-board, I think we need at least 10 threads a month on the topic...
The life board is already for school and work. Why have another board for work?
But that's just me

Interesting idea... but to me it seems like we're just creating a 2nd life board.
Can someone explain the difference?

I think it has potential, but I don't see myself using it.

^Do you think there would be enough posts to make a subboard out of?
Just asking. I'm not good at envisioning things

Dunno. That's why I posted the way I posted; for help from everyone with an idea about it. It seems a thread is the way to go.

I could see it working both ways, but it might be easier to start with a thread, and see if the idea catches on

If it's in a thread I feel like It's going to be all scattered...there is no attention span....if put too much in a conversational setting like a chat thread on the people board...how are people gonna get any real/clear help or statements...
