The norm I take it is bipedal humanoid-like aliens?
Lets look at Halo: All the major aliens have two legs, two arms and a head. The only difference is type of alien (lizard like, gorilla like) and the air they breath (the grunts breathed methane).
Trek: They all look human. Well, except for the head. And the Gorn super slow super powerful punch?
Star Wars: Obviously the most diverse in the group because of the scope and scale of the movies. But, still a large majority are human-ish, again bipedal, two arms, a head.
So is there a lack of imagination for aliens or what?
Renegade Legion: Battle for Jacob's Star had a few interesting creatures like the Kess'rith, four legs, two arms warrior like people. The Baufrin were a froglike people whose brain was located in their stomach, but two arms, two legs. So yeah.
Any scrips on aliens that are different in every sense of the word but intelligent and capable like "humans" are made to be?

Hollywood doesn't like doing non-humanoid aliens. It'll cost too much.
