i hate when someone posts a huge pic then the whole board gets stretched out
i propose a code that forces big pics to resize so the board doesnt stretch out

When I use tinypic I never have to resize. So I suggest just using something like that to host the pics.

Tinypic can resize for you, but it doesnt force you to. That pic posted in the gallery that streatched out the palin thread IS hosted on tiny pic it seems

ok well when I find that the pic is too big and don't know how to resize it, I just link it or just delete it.

yeah linking to big pics is always nice
but sometimes you dont realize how big it is until after you post, and you get too lazy to edit lol

I think we need a picture resize code on here too.

I like the code that resizes images. I know a few of them that various sites use. I dislike when the forum stretches out too. Tinypic never resizes for me [though I'm sure there's an option]. Photobucket will resize images to a certain size, but not small enough to where they won't stretch out the forum.

imageshack.us doesn't resize automatically, but the option is right under the upload thing.

I've seen this kind of code on Proboards forums and it's really nice. I agree. We should have it.

vBulletin has code that allows any size image, but when posted it displays a standard, downsized, specified size if the images is larger than the specified size. Then, underneath the image is a caption that says "click to view fullsize". When you click that, it expands the image (in frame, with no page post) to the full size.
It's just some javascript for setting the height/width attributes of an img tag... nothing crazy.
I say do that, cause it makes everyone happy. It doesn't force you to post sh*tty images (because I run a crazy high rez, hardly anything stretches for me) and it downsizes everything to display prettily for the low-rez people.
Best of both worlds... but will it work with probosh*thouse? -darc

Added.
It tells you by what percentage the pic was reduced, and allows you to click on it to view the full size.
