I've been out of the vault for a few hours but I'm having a hard time.
I need some decent guns but I'm pretty stuck with the 10mm which takes forever to kill basic tards, which leaves me drained the small amount of ammo I'm given and HP as well.
This is miserable.

You get better and better sh*t as you go. I started by finding a hunting rifle and assault rifle as fast as I could. LOVE the hunting rifle.

travel time was too much for me. that and dont beat the main quest line quickly or the game lasts like 8 hours as opposed to 9301293203291031293120913032 hours

just get the hunting rifle and aim yourself. usually a headshot or two will take out anything.

I watched a guide on youtube. I was told to build intelligence and then immediately grab the medical bobblehead from rivet city, which I did. I'm now just going around getting my ass kicked with a pea gun which does CRAP for damage.
My main skills are medical, small arms and repair.

you, my friend, have beaten the game if you managed to get to rivet city only using a 10mm pistol with a few hours played.
