Specifically what stuff do you use for putting it in your tank? Thanks.

never had a carb'd vehicle... but the only stuff that ever seemed to actually help my older vehicles was seafoam. Take it for what it's worth. I think 99.9% of additives are snake-oil.

Just run a gas with a high ethanol content (like 10-15%)

Seafoam or a big can of cleaner to dip parts into is good for a rebuild.
I think seafoam has a product called deep creep thats a spray, if you need something more heavy duty.

Seafoam is good for sucking in through the intake to clean the butterfly valves and intake valves (which don't self-clean like exhaust valves do, because they don't get hot enough), but for fuel-system cleaning I prefer Berryman's Chemtool. It's the only stuff I've ever used that I could feel a noticeable improvement in throttle response for longer than one tank of gas.
