I got the RROD late last year or so, sent the console in and had it repaired. They sent it back to me, but it started making a horrible loud noise...almost like a fan that was spinning 3x faster than it should be. Anyway, I dealt with the noise, but a few days ago I went to start up the console to play some COD and it told me the disk was unreadable. I took it out and looked at it...there was a 1/4 inch scratch in a perfect circle about 1/2 way into the disk. Absolutely have no idea how that would have happened - I don't touch the xbox other than to load/unload games, and COD has been in there for a month straight at least. Anyway, called up tech support...suffered through "Max" or whatever the **** that computerized douche is...finally found out that my warranty was ONE MONTH away from expiring, so I guess I lucked out on the timing. They're going to replace the unit this time, with a reman I'm sure. However, they won't replace the game since it's not made directly by Microsoft I just hope that thing gets back to me by the time GTA is released

It's probably your fault for never feeding your 360 a nutritious meal.

i don't think the cooling can totally fix it, but it may help it so it runs decent it's better to get cooling for new stuff to prevent over heating
