I'm pretty old but my parents still refuse to let me go on a trip alone?
Is anyone else's parents like that?
Would you travel alone if you were able to?

It's a gender double standard. You, being a girl, are seen as more vulnerable and that's why they think you shouldn't be traveling alone. If you were a guy, they'd probably(not that I know your parents) be okay with it, because guys are seen as stronger/more badass.
