Post about games that you wish companies would make, or prototypes that weren't finished or released. For the latter, though, give a brief summary about the game, since not everyone is going to know about it (unless it's a real famous series, like Mortal Kombat 8 or something).
Even though a kid's game (probably), I've always been interested in what Good Luck Charlie Brown for the Atari 2600 was supposed to be about. The gameplay of Wizard sounded cool too, combining gameplay of Berzerk and Wizard of Wor. And whatever the hell the very unfinished game of Kyphus was supposed to be with the robot/monkey and the dark cloud hanging over your head is anybody's guess, especially since Apollo wasn't a very good gaming company, but doing anything that looked remotely like 3D for the 2600 was a pretty big achievement in itself.
I was always interested in how well the arcade adventure/shooter of Gauntlet would have been for the Atari 7800, and how well the vector game of Tempest for the same system would have worked out as well.
Due to the video game crash of '83-'84 killing off the Vectrex before it could release pretty much anything that was in the works, I would like to know if there's at least a demo of the Visible Solar System, since, even though the system didn't have color, being able to handle 3-D and scaling would have been pretty sweet, what with the zooming in of planets and all. I wish Jay Smith, who created the machine, would release whatever the hell he has in his vaults, since he's not going to live forever, and if the stuff's still stored on old floppies, god knows how many of them are still retreivable and still working to this day. Hopefully he's got this stuff provided for in his will, people are still making games for the Vectrex, and there's plenty of us Vecy owners still buying them too...
Ok, to finally forward to software where it could have actually been bought in a store in the last 10 years! For a while there, I thought Virtua Hamster for the Sega 32X was a freakin' JOKE, like "hmmm, we've got Virtua Racer, and Virtua Fighter, so what game is logically next in line? Oh yeah, Virtua Hamster!"
But then once I found out that it would be a racing game (I think) set in the world of those tubes that are used to connect hamster cages together, I ended up thinking that it sounded kind of cool!!
I'll get to my "virtua wish list" of games that someone *should* make later, this should be enough to start for now.
