So I LOVE stone plugs, and I think it would be fun to make them myself. The problem is, I have no idea where to start!! CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ADVICE?!?!? :?

You'll definitely need a tumbler... well, that or the patience to work the stones for 40-50hrs by hand.
Assuming the tumbler route: 1) Choose your stones, preferably a solid mineral type like quartz, granite, or marble 2) Rough shape your stones by knapping, chiseling, and filing. (to apprx 1 to 2 gauge *larger* than the size you need) 3) Tumble for c. 24hrs with rough grit and check size and finish 4) Tumble for c. 48hrs with extremely fine grit. 5) Check finish, surface should be completely smooth. Pits won't matter that much if this is for ear jewelry, if it's for an oral piercing or other bacteria susceptable location then pits are not acceptable. Never use mineral jewelry in a piercing that hasn't healed for at least 6 weeks (IE completely healed). 6) Flush thoroughly with warm water and anti-bactierial soap. Wipe with alcohol. 7) Insert/Enjoy

easy.
get your ear pierced, and then just guaged them down.. i found it easier to skip sizes, but that's just me. you go from 20 to 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6,4,2, 0, 00, and i lost track of the sizes after that.
