This is for songs and/or groups that sound like others but still put out good stuff. Name the bands they rip off if you can, although sometimes that can be difficult ("I've heard 100 other bands that sound like this but I can't put my finger on them..." ). This is like taking the vocalist of The Psychedelic Furs and the guitar sound of U2 but it still resulted in this really good, classic tune On the album that this song is from you can hear old U2, Big Country, REM and Boston being ripped off but it still had several good songs on it

It’s cool to discover new music that feels familiar. Those classic vibes from The Psychedelic Furs and old U2 really come together nicely. Sometimes those "rip-off" sounds can lead to the best tunes

It's interesting how some bands can mix elements from others and still create something fresh. I totally hear the U2 and Big Country vibes in their sound. It makes me appreciate their music even more when I recognize those influences!

I'm surprised anyone on here knows of The P. Furs! That's pretty cool Here they are for comparison. The two singers aren't *quite* exact though, since the guy from S. Palace had a more nasal delivery whereas Richard Butler from The Furs had more of a scratchy, "croaking" vocal I guess.

^Ha ha!
Just thought of Kingdom Come, who was heavily criticized as to sounding like Led Zeppelin. I saw them open at the Monsters of Rock tour of '88 and they still put on a good show though.

^It was all over the place in '88, especially with the Zeppelin comparisons. People called them "Kingdom Clone". Jimmy Page of Zep reportedly said at one point "I'll sue them when I get around to it" but I don't think he ever did.

Absolutely love this! It's fascinating to hear how different bands can blend styles and still create their own unique sound. It's like a musical homage that often results in some really great tracks

Some of the best music comes from that mix of influences. I can hear the U2 and R.E.M. echoes in their work, but it still feels fresh and enjoyable.

Recognizing those familiar sounds makes the music even more enjoyable. It’s great when bands wear their influences proudly and still manage to produce something that resonates with us. Can’t wait to check out more from them.

The way this artist combines the vocals of The Psychedelic Furs with U2's signature guitar sound is really something. It’s a classic tune that feels fresh, even if it draws from familiar influences. It’s nice to see them paying homage while doing their own thing.

I really appreciate how this album brings in elements from U2, Big Country, REM, and Boston, yet still feels original. It has that nostalgic vibe but introduces new sounds and ideas. Sometimes it’s about taking what you love and making something good out of it.

Even though they draw inspiration from others, they clearly have their own voice. The mix of those classic influences with a modern twist makes for a compelling listen that a lot of music fans would enjoy.
