Greetings I have been killed twice by a bear, once by wolf and once by infection in Episode two in about 3 real hours.
I first played The Long Dark in 2016 and at the time there were no cheats that I knew of and again in 2020 even though there were cheats I still died of mulitiple time due to stupidity especially in Episode three, normally I play for around 100 - 200 real hours each time.
About the only record I will beat is probally dieing quicker.
Yes it's hard, but once you learn the basics it's easy.

Greetings I got as far as the scripted bear cave at the end of Episode 2, I have killed the bear with the spear three times already and it still managed to kidnap me to the scripted bear cave and lost 90% of my goods, I still need to crawl about to get my goods and the spear and kill the scripted bear for the final time, too early or too late your dead and need to replay the entire scripted bear cave again with nothing, anyway I got the spear and killed the bear for the final time, I am now on Episode 3 playing as Astrid in pleasant Valley.

Greetings yes I had it installed on ASI_04 (Windows 7) for a long time, I got "The Long Dark" free from "Epic Mega Games", now that EMG application is complaining that it too is due to be terminated for (Windows 7) sometime in the future, my copy of Steam has been disabled from Steam self-updating, but it still works for buying, downloading and installing games, I am in process of migrating all Steam, Ubisoft Connect and EMG launchers to ASI_06 (Windows 10), I am leaving GoG for (Windows 7) for the time being as I normally use the individual files rather than the GOG Launcher too. Currently "The Long Dark" is on ASI_06 (Windows 10), hopefully Episode 5 will come out around April next year, but that could slide as originally Episode 5 was scheduled for Winter 23, but Hinterland decided to make more money with a DLC rather than compete the Wintermute (story mode). I hope Hinterland is not like "Fenix Fire Entertainment" (Osiris: New Dawn) release 0.51, then say it's now version 1.0 without releasing any updated files, or "Urban Games" (Train Fever, Transport Fever and Transport Fever 2) they say we will fix the problems in the next version, but all games have the same bug "Too much slope error". "The Long Dark Wintermute" Episode 1 and 2 only one bear, Moose or Wolf, most deaths are due to stupidity, Episode 3 and 4 up to three Wolfs attacking you at once. freehugs There is no high score, maybe you should watch one of the videos. |

The video doesn't say there is no scoring system or leaderboard. People who don't play these types of games don't know that.

Greetings "The Long Dark Wintermute" is more forgiving if you die in game it just reloads at the last save point, the only high score is your still alive, got food, clothing and well rested.
