Another problem with online shopping (even though it's convenient) is that you're spending more on stuff due to shipping costs. A study a few years back for Christmas said people spent 24% due to this. But again, convenience, plus physical stores and malls are becoming less.

I've only gotten free shipping from Amazon once and that was when they upgraded my account to Amazon Prime. I had to cancel it before they started charging me. I'm not having $12 taken out of my bank account every month when I'm not working and only order from them a few times a year. And that's not "free shipping" when you're paying for it anyway via Prime, it's part of the cost.
Target and Walmart both charged me for shipping (Walmart's would've been free at one point due to it being Christmas but they effed up and self-canceled the order. And that's only certain times of the year when it's free). Not a single one of my music orders from Bandcamp or elsewhere had free shipping, being from Haudh, Blues Funeral, Fablegate Records, Dark Descent Records, Earache Records, Guruguru Brain, whoever handled Perturbator and Gaelic Storm from last month (the latter I don't remember their name off the top of my head), etc. Out of Season is the only one that offers free shipping but I've come nowhere close to an order totaling $50, much less the $100 I have to spend to get free shipping from them.
