I remember them being in the mall. It was one of the only stores I didn't go into. I wasn't athletic.

They were really expensive. No one could afford to shop there. If they average HS kid went there to get gym clothes, he was broke. The average person who worked there couldn't afford to shop there.

Arthur Bertram Modell[1] (June 23, 1925 – September 6, 2012) was an American businessman, entrepreneur and National Football League (NFL) team owner. He owned the Cleveland Browns franchise for 35 years and established the Baltimore Ravens franchise, which he owned for nine years.

Art Modell was the grandson of the founder of Modell's Sporting Goods, Morris A. Modell, but had nothing to do with that company. Established in 1889, Modell's was a Northeastern US retail chain that transitioned to online-only after a 2020 bankruptcy reorganization. When Modell Sporting Goods attempted to penetrate Maryland markets, it hoped that a perceived association with Art Modell's Baltimore Ravens would be helpful, but ultimately they were unsuccessful.

I was at a Modell's a few times, but you're right, they were really expensive. I never got anything.

Oh they just died RECENTLY because I know I saw them in a mall pre COVID.
