I went to unhide the gender in my profile, but it says I'm male when I am female.

Don't clear cache/cookies. I don't recommend that to anyone. You might clear something you need. Do you know how to clear JUST your PB cache? Again, not something I generally suggest.

I see other symbols. But now it lets me click on gender.

Now that it lets you click, maybe you can click other, save, then click female, and save.
