THIS game definitely goes under the "underground/cult entertainment" label, since, upon looking it up on Wikipedia, it stated it was one of the worst-selling games for the Sega Genesis (yep, no Megadrive release for the non-U. S. countries). That's too bad, as I thought it was pretty cool. Probably one reason it didn't do well was because, other than a contest for it, it didn't have much advertising for it. It also came out in 1994, when the Genesis days were waning due to 32-bit gaming consoles (their own 32X add-on was out then too, or maybe it was the year after that) and it was discontinued in '97. It also might be looked down on to having no replay value, but that depends on a few factors.
You can see those factors below. I did a (pretty lengthy, as I tend to go overboard) review for it ages ago:

(Hey, that's an archived page of the site bigballofyarn got me from! And funny how I mentioned the great music and saying I like the "moody" stuff occasionally, since I think it was just a few years later I got into dungeon synth. Also, the tagline of "the final frontier vector style" was a copy and paste screw-up from another review I did that the editor messed up on. The game didn't have vector graphics.)
Clicking on the pics won't work though.
Basically the game's mechanics is like any left/right/thrust/fire game (Asteroids), although you constantly have to keep your ship in the air (like with Gravitar), and your fuel doesn't last very long (just like...well, a bunch of games over the years where your fuel doesn't effing last long). You have to do various things with each mission, so it depends per level on what it is you have to accomplish (like just flat-out LIVE, as the game's hard). One mission has a laser that is impossible to get past, but there's a truck where you can pick up and drop off a reflector dish to bounce the laser beam back into a wall so you can access the rest of the level and complete it. This one is difficult since you’re trying to line yourself up with the next laser beam while fighting gravity, that tiny fuel tank of yours and indestructible creatures flying right above the laser-firing zone.
Pretty cool, somewhat different game. Just don’t like the fantasy nonsense aspects of some of it.
Below is a wiki write-up I did of it too.

Below you can hear the soundtrack of the first two levels of the game.
