Yes. Studies have shown that T-Rex wasn't much of a runner but some of the smaller dinos were quite speedy. Ornithomimids such as Struthiomimus and Dromiceiomimus are thought to have been able to run at speeds of between 50 and 80kph, as fast as a modern Ostrich. Since these particular dinos weren't very well-armoured, they relied on their speed to escape from predators. Velociraptor was quite fast, too, believed to have been able to reach speeds of up to 60kph. Many of the herbivores were too big to be able to run at high speed. Instead, they relied on armour or their sheer size for protection. Only the smallest herbivores relied entirely on speed to avoid being eaten. For safety, most, if not all herbivorous dinos lived in herds. That way, there was always someone to watch out for danger. It's possible some dinos also relied to camouflage for protection, like many of today's animals do.

So they could get to the tops of the trees too?

So they could get to the tops of the trees too? That depends on how tall they were.

Dinosaurs couldn't talk like we do, but it's likely they used various sounds to communicate including shrieking, growling and honking. Some herbivores, such as Parasaurolophus, had hollow crests on their heads. Some palaeontologists believe the crests may have amplified their calls. Horns, plates and crests have also have been used for display as a way to frighten rivals or attract a mate.

I love this post. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Talira Greycrest! Why do you believe dinosaurs went extinct? An astroid? Climate change? A Flood?

I love this post. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Talira Greycrest ! Why do you believe dinosaurs went extinct? An astroid? Climate change? A Flood? Also Talira Greycrest , Which dino had the shortest arms? I'm sticking with the asteroid theory since we've got plenty of evidence for it. The K-Pg Boundary (a thin layer of rock separating the Cretaceous from the Paleogene) is full of Iridium, which is relatively rare on Earth but common in asteroids. We've also got the Chicxulub crater which was found in 1990 on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsular. It's been dated at roughly 65 million years old, which coincides with the time when the non-avian dinosaurs disappeared. As for which dinos had the shortest arms, that would be the Abelisaurids. The arms were so short they were barely functional. It makes me wonder why these dinos even had arms if they couldn't physically use them.

As long as the arms were long enough, they could be used for walking on or holding on to things. The arms of Abelisaurids such as Carnotaurus were so short they were practically useless.

The Carnotaurus scene in 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom'. Here, you can see just how short its arms are. Even T-Rex's arms were longer.
