Is Charon the one that has volcanoes that spit out ice? Or was that a rumor?

I don't know. But we've supposedly never visited Pluto or Charon via spacecraft. I didn't know that until today.

In July 2015, NASA's New Horizons space probe flew past Pluto. Unfortunately, Pluto's distance from Earth makes in-depth study difficult. Fun facts about Pluto: - Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh on February 18th, 1930, 15 years after its existence was predicted by American astronomer, Percival Lowell.
- It takes 247 years for Pluto to complete its orbit around the Sun.
- Pluto is named after the Roman god of the underworld.
- Pluto's approximate distance from the Sun is around 5,945,900,000km.
- Thanks to its elliptical orbit, Pluto is sometimes closer to the Sun than Neptune.
