I see no reason why Pluto can't be a planet. It was always referred to as a planet when I was growing up in the 90s. It's always been a planet has it not? There was that formula we had back in school that helped you remember the names, don't ask me what it was now, far too long ago! But it was a bit like how the spectrum rainbow had the initial letters of the primary colours. Anyway... someone will know...

Don't understand why NASA says Pluto isn't a planet.

I don't get why "dwarf planet" means not a planet. It sounds more like a description, like how Mercury is a hot planet.

Don't understand why NASA says Pluto isn't a planet. It's because if they kept Pluto as a planet then we would have a lot more than 9 in our solar system. Soon after 1992 they found many "frozen worlds", some larger than Pluto. So instead of making every "planet" they discovered a new planet in our solar system they decided to reclassify Pluto to a dwarf planet. If Pluto is a planet then they would have to classify Eris as a planet as well because it's actually bigger than Pluto.

If Pluto is a planet then they would have to classify Eris as a planet as well because it's actually bigger than Pluto. But now we have a ton of "dwarf planets." Either way they got names and everything. So what if they found more. Just add more, which they technically did. Lol Also, it's funny how Pluto gets this kind of support.

I think it's more of not wanting to change the "solar system" as much as possible. It would be easier to declassify one than to add many.
