I don't know if that's even the right word for it, but I don't seem to be properly connected to my emotions. I literally don't react to things like you would think a person would. I got a promotion at work. Nothing. Cat runs away. Nothing (for nearly an entire hour, no reaction). This virus sh*t. Nothing. I rarely cry. I don't get excited. It's all just... Nothing. I'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong that's effecting my responses. It's not normal for people to be like this. Low energy, that's one thing, but I seem to be completely detached.

That's some thing a lot of people would love. Do you care, but just can't express what you feel?

Maybe it's avoidance and denial. You don't know how to process what's happening, so you just don't. You game, you work, and you ignore the issue. Maybe. Do you think that's happening?

It sounds to me like coping mechanism, possible denial. What do you think about that?

If you were to sit down and analyze a situation where you thought about it for an hour, do you think you'd be emotioally impacted?

OK, you don't react physically. You don't call for help. Etc.
Are you feeling anything emotionally? If a relative died from COVID 19, do you think you would cry?

I can be pretty emotionless when I take my anxiety meds. I'm just in a dream-like state and I have no reaction to anything. Everything is a meh and a strug.

Do you think maybe it's intentional? Years ago, I built up a wall. I was scared to be sad or afraid. Now I watch murder, death, crime, and it's like it's nothing to me. I'm a rock hard wall. But no one gets to my heart either.

I do feel the emotions, I just can't seem to ever express. That's why I feel like I'm detached emotionally. Something will happen and I just do not react.

It might be forever. What thoughts are in your mind?

Not everyone has a physical reaction. Maybe feeling calm is some good inner peace you have.

MzPanik, I don't cry, or scream, or self-harm. Maybe it's GOOD that you aren't having pysical reactions.

If you definitely feel, but don't get anxiety or cry, then I envy you. Not everyone reacts to things physically.
