Avoiding TV and FB is a smart thing to do. I think what gets me the most panicked is when other people start to panic.

Sometimes I panic. It can be big things like a hurricane, or small things like missing a TV show. It's mostly fear that I don't have control over a situation that gets me.

I agree that it can be about control. For example, I panic when I'm stuck in traffic. I can't move, can't leave, can't get to where I have to go, and can't move the other cars.
But when it's something really big like a plane crash on TV, I won't panic because it's so far out of my reach that I don't even hear it. Does that make sense?

Yes. Traffic is the worst. It makes me feel like I'm going to neglect the rest of my life if I can't get home on my terms.

I panic more over household problems than issues in the news. Still, if I'm in a panicky mood, I avoid the news.

That is exactly what it is for me too, biggest trigger is feeling like I have no control over a situation! I am glad to hear someone else say it (because that means there are others who "get it!") and that it's not just me!!

That's why traffic and crowds make me anxious too. Or if I'm stuck at an event and can't leave. Too many people can cause too many problems that I can't escape.

I've been experiencing a lot of panic lately over friends/family who don't answer their phone. But it's not what you think. I end up convincing myself that they hate me.

That's inconsiderate, but I'm sure they don't hate you.

It doesn't make sense. I was supposed to do someone a favor over the weekend. I drove all the way out there and the event was canceled. My family never even said anthing.

I'm sorry that happened to you. They should have told you in advance or at least apologized afterwards..

Right? So, one of them wasn't a FB friend. I tried to add one as a friend, and the request has been pending since Friday, but he's online every day.
