Pre-alpha Test ProBoards v.6 (Ending 5-31-2020)

A forum friend made a nice theme/skin that is a very organized replica of how ProBoards v.6 is expected to look "out of the box." This is just a skin, and is not a change in software. Still, many things you use often will be in different places.

The shop, advanced karma, and tabbed emoticons may not be added to this theme since it is only temporary. This pre-alpha test will only be available for a limited time.

I suggest using this theme once in a while to familiarize yourself with this new look. You can make this change by navigating to Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Forum Theme > Proboards v.6 Alpha > Save

ProBoards v.6 may not be available on this forum for over a year. When it becomes available to me, I will have 18 months to make any necessary coding changes before I make it available to all of you. ProBoards v.6 may look slightly different from this theme upon its release.

I see that it only works in a v.6 style on desktop.

On mobie, all the features are gone. (As expected)

Should I put my phone in desktop mode to test this appropriately on my phone?

Maybe I'll wait for the official beta for phone tests.

Ohh a left menu. Kind of looks like an app. I too would like it to be functional on mobile, but maybe that's not possible since it's just a skin. Not a problem. I mostly browser from my laptop anyway. I do hope to meet Mr. hdd one day. I haven't seen him post yet. I will use this once in a while. Even if it's not exactly how the new PB will look, it's good to get a feel of how to make new topics, and where the menu will be. Nicely done.

Random Thoughts:

1. I wonder if the "Who's Online" game will still work. I'm thinking alt text might still be copied, but it'll say "avatar" after every person's name. The game might have to be retired.
2. This looks very modern and clean. It's different. Not different bad. Just different from what I'm used to seeing.
3. Very organized and nice-looking.
4. Very functional still. I do see what you mean that it's just a visual theme.
5. What does alpha mean? Like a pre-test to the actual software change?

very nice and I hope to see HDD around the forum. He seems like a great fellow. I will use the theme here and there on my desktop just to get an idea for the feel of the new menu placement, topic creation, and look of the home page. Then when it hits me, it won't be a giant OHHH MYY GAWWWD moment.

Even using the desktop mode it won't become good.
I have tried that theme.

And by the way I was working on that but I stopped when I saw hdd works hard and asking a permission etc

Forced circular avatars will be a change!! Everyone has square avatars. I bet that's one thing Christina will change since she didn't like the rounded edges of v5.

I see Proboards adopted your avatars on the home page idea. I remember everyone begging for it, but yours is the only Proboard that has it in the right place. You and Firewolf are master coders.

It's very nice and functional for pre-alpha. It's even nice if it were a first look at the software rather than a skin. Tell hdd that he did a great job. I figure v6 will be fine. It's just the visuals I"ll have to get used to. So I'm glad you put this out there early.
