Does anyone blog or make money from blogging? I hear it's near impossible, but it's something I still kinda want to do.

There are two important things and they both seem impossible if you're a beginner.
1. Write interesting content.
2. Attract an audience.
So, you kind of need to know what you want to write about and be passionate about it.

I used to write an employer's blog, but she paid Google $200 a month for advertising.

You know how things can spread on social media. Sometimes you don't have to advertise or be famous. The internet decides these things. It's hard to even figure out what's going to be "cool."

I shut down my blog a few years ago. I enjoyed doing it, but it didn’t produce any income so it didn’t make sense. I can make a Wix or something if I decide to do it again.

Gardening and prose mostly I didn’t expect to make money on it but between my site name/hosting I was something like $100-$200 a year in expenses. |
