Just a suggestion: It would be really nice to get with 2017 and enforce HTTPS here, clean up all the broken links, and keep everyone's cookies safe. One major problem I see here is when visiting HTTPS as a guest, when I login I am always redirected to HTTP. This is the kind of situation for which HSTS was invented. It's required by some software, but I guess not yet on proboards.

Tip: Writting https on an http site will not make it secure if the site doesn't support it. That goes for any site.
Proboards is working on a major upgrade though. MAJOR. Not sure if it'll be 6 or 12 months before it is released though.

I've never seen any broken links, but a new version of proboards is in the works. They haven't given an official release date yet.

Version 6 MIGHT be out by January. They haven't yet given me a date. I'm not sure what you mean by "broken links," but this is a message from one of the Proboards owners. Hi, This is not new. ProBoards forums are not yet SSL (https vs http) which is something Google and others have been pushing more in the last couple of months. We plan to make forums SSL in the not-too-distant-future.

Good that HTTPS is coming "soon." I hate that word. But I guess it's just a few more months until version 6.

I'm not sure what you mean by "broken links," but this is a message from one of the Proboards owners. Open DevTools in Chrome and hit the forum with HTTPS. There are a large number of errors and soft 404s on every page.

Your browser will complain about mixed https/http content being loaded on a page and can potentially fail to download resources that are not served over https if the protocol is not specified. In general updating an entire platform to use https is not a small chore. Here is a post from Nick Craver, who is an architecture lead at StackOverflow, writing about StackExchange's move to https: nickcraver.com/blog/2017/05/22/https-on-stack-overflow/

Pøĸē, so it's a big chore and it's justified that it might take them a few months or even a year to fix?
