Tried it for the first time, but couldn't get into it at all. I tried
for at least an hour, but it got to the point where I started asking,
"What's the appeal and why exactly do people play this?" Have any of
you tried the game and had a similar or different experience?

lol. There were just 1 million + people watching the E3 fortnite tourney. Ninja won it (of course) and won $1mm for his charity.
but yeah, the game sucks, totally.

What didn't you like about it? Probably because I started it, and it has no tutorial and no practice mode and you have no idea what the **** is going on. After a couple matches (during all but one of which I died almost immediately upon encountering another player) I started to get the idea. Meh. A couple of my friends play it, so I may try playing with them a bit and see if it grows on me.  |

Just released on Switch, which is why I decided to try it for sh*ts and giggles. Downloaded it on PC too, since you can play on the same account on both platforms which would be kind of cool if I was able to get into it. |

It's fun. Easy to get into, hard to master. They have a very unique mechanic (building) that they modeled their skill gap around.
Honestly, it's basically a more advanced shooter.
