I search for forums sometimes, and I found one with almost a million posts and over 5,000 members. How does everyone just stop logging in? Makes no sense to me. Here's one example. silentgrief.proboards.com/Also weird that the admin only has 1 post ever. All the top posters with over 10K posts stopped logging in years ago. No announcements that they moved to a new board.

It probably happens over time. A few people stop logging in, then their friends stop logging in, then their friends and so on.

Some forum admins like to watch more than post. And it probably didn't happen in one day. It is weird though that everyone would abandon the forum if it didn't move to a new host.

Just wondering, what do the top posters' post counts look like?

No not for years. I can't post anything private about the forum though. It's just so weird to me. It looked so successful.

Wow the topic of that forum is so sad. Yeah, I didn't lose a kid or anything. Was just searching for active proboards.

217 Guests in the past 24 hrs though. Looks like they still show up in Google.

I guess as top posters leave, other people leave, and eventually everyone leaves. But for thousands to leave, that makes you wonder.
