Ever done a project for someone and then had to fight them to get paid? I'm dealing with someone who I made a website for. It's been 2 months and every few days he'll come up with something to change, but I still haven't gotten paid for my 20+ hours. Am I supposed to wait until it's done 100% to his insane standards or expect to get paid for time maybe every 2 weeks?

if you were on payroll, I'd say you should be getting paid in every check. if this is a freelance thing, you should have discussed this up front, whether you'd get paid for time, or only when the project is done.

In your situation, I probably wouldn't expect to get paid until I finished the project.

In 1099 jobs, I'd discuss payment up front. I don't think it's unusual to get paid at the end for a site.

IMO, you shouldn't get paid until you finish the job. IMO it's just taking longer than you thought.

Yeah I know he wants to pay. He's not going to scam me. It's just been ages and I hate that I put so much in to this and received nothing yet.

If it's on the books, it sounds illegal to withhold pay.
If it's off the books, well, he has no obligation to pay.
