I never said it to the guy, but I often make that question to myself.... would it be any better with another woman? No. There are abusive, cheating, lying lovers of both genders. Lots of people are selfish in the world or messed up and hurt the other person in the relationship as a result. I just read this book recently that was a true story about a woman who had a really, super nice, loving husband, who made a lot of money, helped with the housework, and was completely devoted and supporting of her. (And he was even good looking and in good shape as well!) Basically, the kind of guy every woman on this forum probably wishes she had and yet she continuously cheated on him, lied to him, and treated him like crap every day because she was bored and wanted someone exciting. She also abandoned her kids for a month because she's a horrible, selfish human being.

Yea, it was really disturbing reading the novel. I just couldn't put it down anyway because, you know, it's hard to look away from a train wreck, but the reviews for the book were filled with insults about what a POS the woman was because she really, really is. And she even admits to this in the book.
