This is actually not far from the truth. A few of the houses in Flint were returning lab results that exceeded the federal standard limit for toxic waste. They were instructed to not use the water for any purpose.

Can you use it if you boil it? Heavy metal contamination would not be affected by boiling the water. Evaporation might even increase the concentration of polutants. Boiling is only useful for biologically unsafe water, to kill any living bits in there.

Thank God the original article was from the onion or I'd be pissed.
But still, we are turning more and more into a third world country. There's a whole city that doesn't have clean water to drink.
