Take Aspirin [will reduce both pain and redness]...Rest...Cool [not cold] water followed by moisturizer followed by Vaseline and when possible plastic cling wrap in layers [not wrapped]...Wet towel & fan at night. Try a product called 'Sun Burnt'-- HEREJust got back from Honolulu and found a great product 'Maui Vera'-- HEREAvoid burn relief products with alcohol [difficult to do]...look for mint-based cooling relief instead. Note that some people get red from the sunscreen and sunscreens lose their effectiveness with age. There are sunscreens with over 100 SPF, some understate their SPFs, I agree that there are rip offs but others have properties that are beneficial. I suggest looking at the active ingredients to find the best value. Best to you.
