In IRC right now sort of idle but will check back every so often.

Yup. No posers and more secure since it doesn't give your location info out the way IRC does. You are aware that staff can see your IP, right? Plus it's not like anyone can do anything with it or even make the effect to anyway. |

The problem with IRC was the bots and the posers. The chats here have 30+ people and we use our own accounts. No use idling in a dead room.

Yup. No posers and more secure since it doesn't give your location info out the way IRC does. Host cloaking is enabled by default. Here's all Poke's info for your nefarious purposes : [Poke] (~Poke@A15EEA3D.757AECFB.84FB5823.IP) The only people who could get your IP without you revealing it yourself (CTCP/DCC/etc) is the IRCOPS... the people that run the server. And for some reason I don't think they care... also the same is true of this server + the board admin, so actually probo is less secure in that regard - two layers can see your IP instead of just one. BAM! |

DOesnt it give IPs to the room OPs or to you darc? No, host cloaking is universal on the server. The only people who could possibly connect your host cloak to your real IP would be the server admins. At least, I'm assuming they have a way to do that in order to be able to enforce IP range bans. |
