I used to know a girl who shaved her eyebrows off and plucked out her lashes. Never asked her why she did it. That's gotta hurt.

Anyone got threaded instead of waxed? I've done both. I have hairs that are very difficult to remove because they are long and thin, so they break in the wax or when people try to pluck them. So sometimes they insist on doing threading. It is better at removing hairs, but it hurts SO BAD. Just so you know, waxing feels like NOTHING to me. It makes me want to fall asleep in relaxation. Same with when they pluck my eyebrows. But threading....so,so painful, I can barely stand it.

Really? They say threading is painfree. Anyone who said that is crazy. I've never actually seen someone do threading on someone, I've just felt it, but while they rub that thing against your eyebrows, it feels like they are using a razor to slowly cut off layers of your skin.

Yikes, I've thought about getting mine threaded because I hate plucking and waxing hurts like a b**ch to me but if it's not as pain free I'll stick to plucking. ><

Threading is just another method of removing hair, especially eyebrow hair.

I'm going to say that everyone is different and that I think there might be some people who feel that threading causes less pain than waxing or tweezing. But I think for most people, this isn't true. The way that threading is better is that it removes more hairs than waxing or tweezing does.
What they aren't telling you is that when they rub the thread on your face, it hurts a lot, like it's giving an indian burn to your skin. And that when you tweeze, it's only one hair at a time, so it hurts less. And when you wax it hurts less because its heated and therefore relaxes your pores and hair so that it easily falls out.
With waxing, too, if you get it done by someone who is good at their job, they will use pressure from their finger and maybe rub something on the area that was just waxed to cool it down and make it feel less painful.
But with threading, there is no stopping period, so it's just constant pulling and pulling and rubbing of your skin. And they don't give you breaks to recover from all the yanking.
If you watch the video calyta posted, you can see the girls eyelids flinching softly from the threading when they go in for the close up. And she doesn't even have hair on her eyebrows before hand, so they are not yanking any hairs out. That's just flinching from the pain of the thread rubbing so roughly against your skin.
