I used to live in a forested area, so I used to let my dogs poop in the forest all the time without cleaning it up. Because it's the middle of nowhere and there's animals already pooping all around those places anyway.
But living in a city now, I feel like it's important to clean up dog poop in this area.

Yeah don't leave it in an area where there's a lot of people. It's not safe.
