v5 gives you access to EVERYTHING, every script, and makes it easier to customize. People on the support forum are crying because they relied on other people entirely. If they can't run a site, they can't complain when FREE HELP is no longer available.
Condescending indeed.
I suggest you not give your help out for free.
I doubt that you do based on your attitude.
You're suggesting that only coders should admin forums.
That's fine...That's your opinion.
Not one shared by Proboards.
I'm guessing you are against the new plugin system.
You are also wrong in your basic premise that only those people that are not nearly as bright as you clearly are and mooch on the knowledge of others are the only ones having issues.
There are admins who have been coders since the early years of Proboards who are also frustrated that they need to reorganize their coding to accommodate the new platform.
It's not that they CAN'T do it, though clearly their talents would pale to your own, but that they HAVE to do it and that there are new specifications that need to be made.
There must be a reason this forum was not converted at the earliest opportunity.
Some forums utilized the talents of associates that are no longer with their forums.
Again, all anyone has to do is read the requests in support.
You make me sound like I'm down on Proboards and V5 which is not the case.
But I understand that there is a 'shut up and just get in line' attitude these days with regard to nearly everything it seems.
Perhaps Todge and others can be convinced not to devalue the efforts of coders like yourself.
Interesting that many of the features requested and suggested by the
hoi polloi and coded by wonderful people like Todge and coders looking to take on projects to hone their skills were incorporated into the new version.
Todge's smiley code being a great example.
This is a beautiful forum and you should be proud of the work you've put into coding it but I don't think you need to talk down to those who have not.
It comes across as if you're trying to highlight your own genius.
I'm done.
I won't argue the point.
You're obviously more up to speed than the rest of us.
