I often think I have mental issues with the way I hold onto anger and emotion.
I can stay mad at people for a very long time.
It's not that I can't move on with my life. I just cant forget what the person did and I have trouble trusting them again.

It's not obligatory to trust again immediately. But you have to learn to let people back into your life if they make an effort to regain your trust.

I guess you have to decide what's more important to you....
Knowing someone wont betray you again and losing a friend
Or learning to trust again and keeping a friend

If the same people continuously hurt you, there's nothing wrong with letting go of them.

i have a hard time forgiving people. you hurt me and i will simply forget you.

I also battle with the ability to forgive since I can never forget. It's hard to do.

Even when I have forgiven someone I still get upset about something that has happened in the past.
