Breaker isn't tripped...furnace is on...but AC unit isn't working. Any suggestions?

I assume you mean the compressor. Is the compressor fan spinning?

There may be a local breaker on the condensor unit. Go out there are open the little switch box that's mounted to your house.

My furnace is working fine. the AC compressor isn't working. Hence room temperature air...not cold air.

had this happen once. Ended up being a burned contact point. Could also be the capacitor but I think the fan is independent of that

Something similar happened to me last summer. The coil? froze over because of the way we were using the AC. I can't remember if that caused the condenser to stop working or not.
The solution was to run the fan for a day so the coil? could defrost.

Yes coil is the correct term, but if the unit is frozen the condenser fan will still run.

Mine recently froze over. I had to let it defrost over night.
