what can I spray on the yard that will kill EVERYTHING?
I want to kill all plant life - weeds, flowers, grass, everything. What product should I use?

Ground Clear. Is the name of a product. Nothing will grow there for a long time as well.

roundup only lasts a short time. I think it warns against spraying prior to application in the instructions on the bottle.
there are several kinds at the tack shop though

^ You can seed right away with roundup, it doesn't stay in the soil its only obsorbed through folliage.
Best time to seed is in the fall.

Why do you want the grass gone too?

Borax will do it. Dissolve 3 or 4 cups of that stuff into a couple of gallons of water. With a high enough concentration, your soil will be unusable for years.

I forget exactly the name of the product (it's in the garage and I'm lazy...) but ask your local hardware shop for a total herbicide and they'll get you something. The stuff I have will kill EVERYTHING but doesn't "salt the earth", it will just kill anything that it lands on (that absorbs it - so any plant). You can even accidentally spray a good plant then hose it off and it will probably be okay.
I know it's some sort of solutionized salt, but I forget the special chemical it is a salt of. -darc
