Why is it cheaper to eat fast food than to pack your own lunch? If you order 2-3 items from their dollar menu for lunch, that's only 10-15 dollars a week, if you pack your own lunch, it costs me between 20-25 a week(with luncheon meat, bread, mini snack, etc)

But the dollar menu food is usually gross. Fast foods costs more for me.

I just buy healthy choice or lean cuisine for $2.50 each and drink water from the cooler. Or i just bring leftovers from the night before's dinner.

I usually eat out at lunch and buy simple to cook things for dinner. I have found I end up about the same in the end within about $25/mo vs. bringing my own lunch.
Usually spend about $9-15 dollars on lunch.

i'm part of cheap lunch crew.
a good seasoned chicken breast with some saffron rice, maybe some peas and carrots in the rice seems like a decent enough lunch for me.

probably cause you're buying processed/packaged food that you pack for lunches
buy some real food, cook it, and bring it for lunch. it will be cheaper and tastier

Get a crockpot, then make enough food for the week. Should be $2-$3 per meal.

I just always make 3 portions for dinner.
1 for me, 2 to put in a tupperware to take to work.

^yeah leftovers is the easiest method. if you have something you can make in bulk that you wont get sick of, do it.

i have a rice cooker/steamer thing.
wake up, preheat oven. season breasts with basil, oregano, thyme, sometimes lemon pepper. spray with some balsamic, throw in oven.
start steaming rice and veggies in the tray that sits above the rice.
take shower, come out, do some other sh*t, hot food in 30 mins. tupperware, go.
same can be done for the salmon i mentioned.
can get 2-3 servings of saffron rice for like 99 cents.

You must be doing it wrong, but in your defense, sh*tty food is cheap because you get hooked and go back again and again and again.....eating healthier can be a little more expensive, but the healthy benefits you reap aren't worth any dollar amount
