I read somewhere that the admin can read all private content on a forum, like in private boards or private messages.
Is that true?

She can read everything in any board, "private" or not. She's the one who made them private and set the passwords.
I dont see how she'd be able to read what's in our accounts

the admin can't read your PMs. it would be a breach of privacy.

Private messages don't count views. It only tells you if it's new or read. And no the admin can't see your private messages.
She can see any board she makes though

Only people who have access to your account can see your private messages, member notes, or any info you have saved.
Private boards are created by the admin, so those will be accessible.

I thought everything was saved in the security log? That logs other profile stuff, like IP addresses, who smites or exalts who, who edits their posts, who edits their profile, and what IP it all happens from |

^Right that's why it's a security log. It only logs information relevant to the forum.
Private messages are not logged anywhere.... expect maybe the proboards server... in which case, maybe the owners of proboards could view them if they really wanted to.

Actually, just to expand on this a bit. The main administrator can of course see all private boards, as it is the main administrator's job to moderate the forum, including the private boards. Basically, no one can see your private messages unless they are logged in to your account. But, the company ProBoards can still view your private messages. They say they don't go through them, and I will take their word for it. But, if a PM is reported to them as a TOS violation or something, they will specifically look at the PM that is reported.
