Would be good to like... temp lock an account if someone gets the password wrong 5 times.
Say someone was trying to break into my account. I've seen on another forum where if you get the password wrong a bunch of times, it'll lock the account for security and an admin will have to take care of it.
Anyone think that's a good idea?

It's good if it's a malicious attack, but what if you forget your own password and lock yourself out of your own account?

Maybe it would be better if we get a notification of 5 failed login attempts.... then we can change our password

Yea, I have a bunch of different usernames and a bunch of different passwords that I use on different forums and I forget them all the time. I'd definitely hate this. Proboards already has it (I know this from experience of forgetting these things), so that if you try 5 times and fail, you can't try again for another hour. That's good enough. Ana's idea isn't a bad one, too. |

Maybe they changed it recently or something, but I've screamed in frustration out loud on several occasions because I had to wait an hour to try again when it happened to me. So yes, I am sure. |

No it doesnt work. It told me incorrect password 11 times in a row... and I logged in right after
