^Proboards has never, not once, asked me for a password to edit my profile.
Does it always do that for you?

but still.... looks like you only have to enter it if you want to change it....
so leave it blank

 It's always like that for me, even on other forums. I can leave it blank but have to leave the first part blank too. It automatically puts the password because I selected firefox to autosave it. |

Do you have a section under modify profile called "Account Information", that's where you change your password and your display name.

So what exactly is the issue here?
If you know your password to log in, you don't need to enter it in your profile unless you want to change it..
