By "postwh0re", I mean those people who reply to threads with a "yes", "no", emoticon, just one word, etc.
I'm sick of seeing people who do this just to get their postcount up. It's annoying, and it gives others nothing to respond to.
NOTE: Vote, but do not reply with anybody's name. I'm conducting this survey in a mature way. Please, do not ruin it. Thank you.
Also... if you say yes, should it be permanantly, a month, few days, few hours? Any input would be great. Thanks, guys.

I think postwhores should simply be banned for good. If you aren't going to post something worthwhile and just a simple response then why bother posting? Kinda like when someone texts you with "lol" ... lol. (I know how you hate that haha)
Banstick 'em.

Ban for an indefinate ammount of time. I guess till they can send an email asking to be unbanned that's longer than three words.

maybe just come up with a stricter set of posting guidelines before you ban anyone

I'll let you guys come up with rules for posting etiquette. Be specific. Don't mention names. Do not give me something like "People need to post longer messages" Give me more detail.
I.E.
"Silly replies are okay and acceptable in the Games section, but should not be allowed in more serious posts."
or..
"If you agree with someone, don't simply reply with "yes" or "I agree." Explain your answer if the thread involves a thought provoking topic."
or...
"Use good judgment when understanding the tone of a thread. Reply accordingly"
Those are just examples. Post any that you feel strongly about.

My views:
I agree with one of the examples that Yarn had given us. I do believe that they're okay in the "Games" section, while they're just plain annoying in any other thread. If you would like to give your input on a certain topic, then go into detail WITH that input. a simple "I agree", "yes", or "no" just does not cut it. If you don't have anything interesting to say, do not say anything at all.
There have been many threads that I've went into before, and I have WANTED to say something, but I can't necessarily find the proper words to describe my feelings. I would rather read your true feelings on a subject, whether I agree or not, as opposed to a one word answer, or a simple smiley.
My personal opinion is that postwhores should be banned, maybe for several days. Once they are let back on the board and begin posting again, they will PROPERLY post. If this criteria is not met by the members standards, then they will be banned, for an indefinite amount of time.
I know I do not have MUCH say in what the final outcome is, but to my knowledge, other members do agree with me. After all, nobody likes a postwhore.

side note I think it would be a funny experiment to disable post counts. i also dont see why people would care so much out PCs on a forum like this. i think 90% of the members know yarny personally.. so it's like a friendship forum for her.. not a forum promoting something you're really adamant about. you know what I mean by that? i mean, like.. it's not like you win a prize for having over 6k in posts. (side lol at tampa) but i like the idea of coming up with more specific rules. if I think of any others I will edit this thread later tonight

Same here, Tony. I guess it could be considered a "status symbol" but nobody likes the people that do it so their status remains at postwhore.

Perhaps people like post counts because it gives you a feel of how long you've been around.. or how active you are in the community.
And postwhores just destroy that, kind of like a sports player who takes steroids to break a record. Sorta. Just with more interwebs.
