Was talking to Yarn about it and figured we should see what you guys would think of it.
Anyways I was thinking; In the entertainment section, there could be a sub boad where people could post reviews of albums/films/games. Would be a nice addition if it's used properly and would give people a nice reference.
So, waht you all think?

a subboard just for reviews? sounds like it could be cool

Well I know I would when I get the time too. Thing is, I ;pve doing reviews, just never known whether to put them in Entertainment and then they get lost so can't really be much of a point of reference.

I think it'd be a good idea, originally the extra games section couldn't hold itself up on it's own, but combining that with films AND albums would probably do it.

Would enough people review to make a whole board for it? Well that's it. In itself, it's not really a "whole board", but a sub-board. Thus it probably wont have hundereds upon hundereds of reviews. But this means that if there are only say 3 or 4 pages of review threads, then it is easy to pick out a review for a point of reference. |

so are they gonna be guidelines?
because like the reiews that people write now are like a paragraph or so

I don't think so, some people, like myself, get too carried away and can go on too long during a review, others are good at summarizing everything up in only a paragraph or two. So I don't see why it should be limited to only a few people. The only thing that I have to toss in about this right now are how to do ratings...maybe in regards to balls (of yarn), like 1-5 balls, or maybe as high as 10, the higher the number, the better the ____ (game, movie, cd). And maybe it should be like the Member Journals section, where you say in the subject line if people can comment or not, although in this case you'd specify if you're rating a movie, cd or game, in case there's a lot of reviews, and someone might just want to look for a movie review real quick and/or since some people are into some of the more obscure stuff on here, so we'd know what it is that's been posted before we click on it. Just my thoughts |

Yeah I think yarn could come up with a rules/faq thing on how to do a rating..
Then when we make posts, use fatal's idea like:
Movie Review: Men In Black 3
or whatever

I don't think there would be enough reviews to have 3 seperate subboards. I don't mind making the one if you wall want it.
